Job Requirements

  • Current Colorado state residency
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in government or public safety sectors
  • Ability to comply with state and federal fiscal policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparency

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • Experience with governmental accounting or public sector financial management
  • Knowledge of state and federal fiscal rules and grant management
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems, preferably CORE Financial system
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in financial dealings
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Job Duties

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for operational and grant activities
  • Review division requisitions for compliance with accounting rules and policies
  • Reconcile program transactions and prepare necessary journal entries
  • Support grant financial management including recording grants in CORE, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Serve as backup for commercial card program activities including issuing cards and performing data analysis
  • Maintain vendor documentation for accuracy and completeness and coordinate follow-ups
  • Respond to vendor and program inquiries regarding payments
  • Provide training and guidance to program managers on financial management best practices
