Job Requirements

Minimum education: high school diploma or G.E.D.
minimum years of experience: two years in custodial cleaning
ability to operate hand tools and small power tools
knowledge of HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets
ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
ability to work on feet for extended periods
availability to flex hours and duties during summer schedule
pass criminal history background check
for Arizona employees, ability to obtain and hold IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
for Nevada employees, ability to pass fingerprint background check

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D.
two or more years experience in custodial cleaning
preferred five or more years experience in custodial cleaning in a school setting
basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and products
preferred expert knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment including power tools and hand tools or willingness to learn
ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
ability to work and remain on foot for extended periods
ability to pass a criminal history background check
ability to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card for Arizona employees
ability to undergo NV Fingerprint Background Check for Nevada employees

Job Duties

Clean and maintain building facilities including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, library/media rooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses' rooms, stages and lobby/receptionist areas
perform necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events including daily cafeteria set-up
sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment
clean and/or polish walls, ceilings, windows, and building fixtures and whiteboards
clean entryways, hallways, door mats, and door glass daily
dust furniture, walls, light fixtures, baseboards, student desks and other equipment
gather and empty trash
clean and sanitize bathrooms daily
clean and service cleaning equipment daily and as needed
apply wax or sealers to wood or concrete floors as directed by District Facilities
assist in building security by locking and unlocking doors and gates
assist with routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb and filter changes
notify Campus Facility Manager or Custodial Supervisor of the need to order materials/supplies or report major repairs
operate hand tools, small power tools, ladder, backpack and upright vacuum, floor buffer, cleaning and polishing chemicals, wheeled utility cart, and moving equipment
follow HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets
perform other duties as assigned
flex hours and duties during the summer school schedule as needed
