The pay rate for this hourly position is $16.00, with an attractive bonus structure of $1,000 total - $500 awarded after 60 days of service and an additional $500 after 90 days.

This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties, including sweeping, mopping, debris removal, trash disposal, surface polishing, and the upkeep of furniture and fixtures. Custodians also use cleaning chemicals and power equipment safely according to established standards to avoid damage to floors and infrastructure. They are tasked with monitoring the condition of the building and promptly reporting repair needs to supervisors. Effective communication and teamwork with clients, co-workers, and management are crucial for success. Seasonal tasks like snow removal, leaf raking, and grass cutting may also be part of the job.

Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • no experience required on the job training provided
  • no high school diploma GED or college degree required

  • prior customer service experience preferred
  • one year of prior similar work experience preferred

Job Duties

  • clean and maintain assigned area including classrooms hallways restrooms locker rooms office and stairways
  • sweep remove debris clean spills and mop floors in designated areas
  • regularly check trash receptacles emptying as needed
  • follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • notify lead cleaner or manager concerning need for minor or major repairs
  • establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients co-workers supervisors and managers
  • collect consolidate and separate recycling into proper receptacles
  • clean and dust desks chairs tables furniture fixtures doors sills floors ceiling and walls
  • polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel
  • wipe and clean tabletops chairs and equipment in food areas
  • move cabinets boxes furniture crates and equipment to clean areas manually or using hand trucks
  • clean interior partition glass windows glass partitions and mirrors
  • perform seasonal tasks like sweeping walks raking leaves cutting grass and removing snow
  • maintain cleanliness of restrooms including cleaning and polishing
  • comply with all safety security compliance and quality standards and procedures
