Job Description
Butler's Bus is a reputable transportation company dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and efficient bus services primarily for students in local communities. The company is committed to the highest standards of safety and customer service and seeks to employ professional bus drivers who can positively impact the lives of children by ensuring a safe and timely commute to and from school. As a key player in the school transportation industry, Butler's Bus offers a unique employment opportunity that combines competitive pay, essential benefits, and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for individuals passionate about driving and community service.
At Butler's Bus, driver roles are designed to be both rewarding and flexible, with average weekly hours around 25, often split into convenient shifts in the morning and afternoon. Drivers are entrusted with the responsibility of safely operating buses on predetermined routes, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complying with strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role emphasizes safety above all, including ensuring child safety checks after routes and adhering to all state and federal traffic laws. The company not only provides opportunities for experienced bus drivers but also offers paid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training for those looking to obtain the necessary endorsements, supporting career development and growth within the transportation sector.
The compensation package includes a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24 to $28, reflecting the importance of the position. In addition to pay, Butler's Bus offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan, dental and vision insurance, and company-paid life insurance. Additional earning opportunities are available through charter work, which includes field trips and sporting events. For fully licensed school bus drivers, a generous $5,000 sign-on bonus is provided, while those enrolled in training to achieve licensing certifications can receive a $3,000 sign-on bonus.
This driver position requires candidates to be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record and at least three years of consecutive licensed driving experience. Prospective drivers must successfully pass drug testing, DOT physicals, and background checks. CDL Class B licenses with School and Passenger (S&P) endorsements are required, though the company supports obtaining these qualifications through their paid training program. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working with children, value safety, and desire a job that offers meaningful community impact with reliable and flexible working conditions.
