Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company, a globally recognized leader in the coffee industry, has built a unique legacy since its inception by emphasizing not just exceptional coffee but also fostering a sense of connection among people. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and community, Starbucks has expanded its brand through various specialty initiatives, including the Starbucks Reserve and Roastery experiences. These flagship locations and culinary kitchens highlight Starbucks' dedication to craftsmanship and the art of coffee and food pairing, offering a premium environment that celebrates artisanal coffee and fresh culinary creations. This is where Starbucks Reserve Kitchen stands out, operating as part of a high-energy, sophisticated culinary team responsible for preparing and presenting fresh food offerings that complement the Reserve brand. Their menu includes handcrafted pastries, cakes, focaccia-style pizzas, artisanal baked breads, and much more, crafted with impeccable ingredients and meticulous attention to detail. These locations provide a dynamic and engaging work environment for culinary ambassadors who are passionate about food preparation, quality, and customer delight.

The role of Savory Lead within the Starbucks Reserve Kitchen is pivotal in maintaining the high standards Starbucks is known for. This position entails organizing and executing large-scale food preparation with an acute focus on maintaining quality, flavor, and presentation. As a pivotal contributor to the team, the Savory Lead assists the Head Savory Chef in managing food production not only within the Reserve Kitchen locations but also for catering events and other special occasions. In addition to direct food production duties, you will assist with inventory management, pricing, cost control, and supply requisition to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.

Beyond food production, the Savory Lead plays a critical role in planning and prioritizing work to optimize team productivity and maintain high-quality standards. This includes staffing consultations, controlling food and payroll costs, managing production documentation, scheduling, and handling administrative duties. The leadership responsibilities extend to supervising the savory team in the absence of management, supporting hiring activities, and fostering a culture of continuous performance development through coaching. As a role model for Starbucks' Mission and Values as well as the Reserve Kitchen vision, the Savory Lead sets an inspirational tone for all partners, promoting a collaborative and value-driven workplace.

Starbucks values professionals who exhibit agility in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate for the Savory Lead position will demonstrate a passion for excellence, outstanding leadership, and the ability to build strong relationships across diverse cultures. Experience requirements include a minimum of 2-3 years in food service and production and at least 2 years of culinary supervision. Additionally, candidates must hold current local health and safety certifications and have a background in training and developing team members. Starbucks offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave, retirement plans, educational support, and more. This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a company that not only values its partners but actively invests in their development and well-being. Join Starbucks Reserve Kitchen as a Savory Lead and be inspired to create with every dish served, delivering exceptional culinary experiences that reflect the passion and quality Starbucks is known for.
