This role is for a Satellite Server within the food service department, providing essential support in the preparation and serving of food items in satellite service areas and the main cafeteria. The position operates under a structured schedule from 10:45 am to 7:15 pm Monday through Friday with rotating weekends. The Satellite Server plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality, safety, and accessibility of food services, ensuring operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction throughout the day.

As a Satellite Server, you will engage in cold preparation and pantry duties, requiring you to follow standardized recipes to prepare salads, sandwiches, and various cold menu items, as well as stocking trays and preparing garnishes. Your responsibilities include preparing meats to specified standards, serving items courteously and promptly, and maintaining a neat and orderly service line. The role demands strict adherence to safety and sanitation policies, including food handling, temperature monitoring, and equipment cleanliness.

You will also be tasked with operating the cash register, ensuring accurate and prompt transaction processing while delivering courteous customer service. This duty extends to maintaining financial accountability through cash counts, register security, and reporting errors in accordance with department guidelines. The position requires effective stock rotation and daily preparation of the satellite service settings, including beverages and disposable goods, aligning with established guidelines for timely service operations.

The job demands a physical capacity including regular standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and compliance with safety protocols in a moderate noise environment. Certification in ServSafe Food Handler Training or an equivalent ANSI-accredited program within 30 days of hire is required, with ongoing certification maintenance necessary.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • one year of food preparation, cooking, and/or cashier experience preferred
  • ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate or ANSI-accredited equivalent required within 30 days of hire
  • must maintain current certification during employment
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • comply with all federal, state, and local safety and health regulations
  • maintain personal hygiene and adhere to dress code
  • regular and predictable attendance
