Job Description
The hiring organization operates within the food service industry and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout its kitchen and dishwashing departments. This establishment prioritizes safety, efficiency, and effective communication within its operations to ensure a clean and safe environment for both staff and patrons. They are seeking a dedicated individual to take on the critical role of Pot and Pan Cleaner. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the food preparation and service areas by ensuring all cooking and serving utensils, pots, and pans are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
The position offers a hands-on role with comprehensive responsibilities including setting up and closing down the pot and pan cleaning area following strict guidelines, handling sanitation procedures, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards in a fast-paced, kitchen environment. The individual will be responsible for properly managing sanitizer solutions and conducting regular cleaning of assigned equipment and floors. Working closely with supervisors, they will also be expected to communicate hazardous conditions and demonstrate proper safety techniques and body mechanics. The role demands adherence to both hospital and department dress codes and active participation in mandatory trainings and meetings such as competency-based training and health-improvement initiatives like flu shots.
This position recognizes the physical demands involved, including exposure to extreme temperature changes and frequent lifting, with a requirement to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance or 35 pounds independently. The establishment emphasizes a team-oriented approach especially when tasks require handling heavier loads. They are open to training candidates with no prior experience, highlighting a willingness to develop skills on the job. Clear communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions in English are necessary to succeed in this role. This position is critical for contributing to a well-functioning, hygienic kitchen environment that meets both health regulations and customer satisfaction standards. It also supports the broader goal of delivering high-quality food service through diligent behind-the-scenes efforts. The working conditions necessitate a resilient and safety-conscious individual capable of maintaining focus and efficiency under physical and environmental stressors. Overall, this opening represents a valuable opportunity to join a professional team dedicated to operational excellence in food service sanitization and safety.
