We are currently seeking a Sanitation Technician Lead to join our evening shift team. This role is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our entire production facility, directly impacting product safety and quality. The Sanitation Technician Lead will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and sanitizing of bakery machinery, conveyors, ovens, and various other equipment. Additionally, they will handle cleaning non-production areas such as ceilings, pipes, and fans, ensuring the entire facility meets health and safety standards. The role involves the use of strong chemicals and equipment under challenging conditions, including hot, damp, and confined spaces. The candidate must demonstrate physical stamina and a strong commitment to following Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) and health and safety policies.
This position is a key leadership role on the evening shift, scheduled from 5:00 pm to 1:30 am Tuesday through Friday, with additional hours on Saturday and potential Sunday shifts depending on operational needs. The hourly pay rate for this role is $20, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the position. Job Requirements
- lift, stack, and/or carry items up to 50 pounds
- demonstrate strong physical stamina in a demanding environment
- comfortable working in conditions such as heat, dampness, wet surfaces, strong cleaning chemicals, and confined spaces
- availability to work evening shifts Tuesday through Friday, with Saturday and possible Sunday shifts
- ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in sanitation or cleaning within a food manufacturing environment preferred
- knowledge of standard sanitation operating procedures (SSOP) and health & safety regulations
- ability to operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals safely
- strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- good communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members
- leadership capabilities to guide and oversee cleaning activities
Job Duties
- perform cleaning, washing, rinsing, and sanitization of bakery machinery, conveyors, ovens, pots, pans, mixing bowls, and more
- degrease and maintain various types of equipment as scheduled
- clean non-production areas including ceilings, pipes, fans, and structural items
- mop, deck brush, and squeegee floors during wash downs as directed
- utilize strong chemicals and safety equipment per Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- operate in hot, damp, wet conditions, and work with strong chemicals, often in high or tight spaces around machinery
- follow established health & safety policies at all times
- attentively take direction from the supervisor and complete assigned tasks according to the Master Cleaning Schedule
- accurately record cleaning activities as required
- inspect all assigned areas and equipment before advising the supervisor of completion
