Job Description
Whole Foods Market is a leading grocery store chain renowned for its commitment to providing fresh, healthy, and organic food options. More than just a conventional supermarket, Whole Foods Market places an emphasis on nourishing people and the planet, ensuring that their products and initiatives contribute positively both locally and globally. With a culture deeply rooted in environmental stewardship, community support, and sustainable practices, the company actively funds grants for school gardens, promotes access to nutritious food in underserved communities, and works to alleviate poverty in developing countries. This approach positions Whole Foods Market not only as a retailer but as a force for meaningful change and social impact, transforming how people eat and live. The company takes pride in fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for its Team Members, encouraging growth and development while upholding high standards of quality and customer service.
The role available is within the Whole Foods Market maintenance team, a vital position that ensures the store’s cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance meet the company's rigorous standards. This job plays an essential part in maintaining a positive customer and Team Member experience by keeping all areas – including sales floors, seating areas, restrooms, and back offices – clean and safe at all times. Maintenance Team Members are expected to perform a variety of tasks ranging from routine cleaning duties to minor repairs and improvements around the store. Additionally, they assist with store landscaping, parking lot upkeep, and respond promptly to cleaning emergencies. This role demands reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to work collaboratively with other teams to support overall store operations.
Whole Foods Market values Team Members who demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Although no prior retail experience is required, candidates must be able to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and using various cleaning and maintenance tools and equipment safely. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed is also necessary. This position offers a wage range from $17.00 to $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market also provides comprehensive Whole Benefits to eligible Full and Part-Time Team Members, which includes store discounts, paid time off, financial wellness programs, and health and wellness support.
In summary, this maintenance role at Whole Foods Market is an entry-level opportunity for individuals seeking to contribute to a company with a strong ethical foundation and a commitment to excellence. It offers a chance to be part of a team that not only maintains store operations but also supports broader initiatives that positively impact communities and the environment. Team Members who succeed in this position can expect to grow personally and professionally, with the possibility of increased pay after the initial 90 days of employment and opportunities for advancement based on performance and business needs. Joining Whole Foods Market means becoming part of a world-changing organization dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting improvements in how people live and eat.
