Job Description

POM Wonderful is a renowned company committed to delivering high-quality, healthy products made from handpicked pomegranates. Recognized for their iconic double-bubble bottle, POM Wonderful is dedicated to growing, harvesting, packaging, and marketing fresh pomegranates, pomegranate arils, and a variety of pomegranate-blended juices and teas. Operating over 9,000 acres in California's Central Valley, the company emphasizes the antioxidant power of their products, ensuring natural quality from tree to table. This extensive agricultural and production operation highlights POM Wonderful's commitment to excellence and healthful living through innovative and sustainable practices.

The role of Sanitation Lead at POM Wonderful is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the sanitation team's activities to maintain a sanitary production environment that meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The Sanitation Lead ensures that high standards of cleanliness and safety are consistently applied throughout the production facility to guarantee the production of safe and top-quality food products. This leadership role requires coordinating sanitation operations, inspecting hygiene standards, and facilitating communication between sanitation staff and management. The position plays a crucial role in protecting both product integrity and consumer safety by ensuring all sanitation procedures are meticulously followed.

The Sanitation Lead's responsibilities include guiding the sanitation team in implementing necessary changes to meet departmental objectives and improve efficiency. A key part of this role involves updating sanitation-related documents such as Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) in collaboration with the Operations Manager. The lead must also inspect work quality, equipment, and materials for any defects or issues and report these findings to supervisors to address promptly. Monitoring and maintaining sanitation efficiency is another critical task, alongside identifying any deviations from normal cleaning schedules or conditions that may require attention.

Daily leadership is essential in this role; the Sanitation Lead conducts meetings with department employees to ensure clarity, motivation, and alignment with company goals. They also supervise the proper use, labeling, and storage of cleaning chemicals to comply with safety standards. This role requires a balance of hands-on inspection, team management, and strict adherence to sanitation protocols to maintain the company’s standards for food safety and quality.

Compensation for the Sanitation Lead ranges from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, reflecting the position's responsibility and the skill set required for successful execution. POM Wonderful promotes an inclusive workplace adhering to Equal Employment Opportunity laws, ensuring fairness and equity in its hiring practices. Candidates interested in this role are encouraged to learn more about the company’s sanitation standards and operational procedures through recommended informational videos provided.

Overall, the Sanitation Lead position at POM Wonderful offers an exciting opportunity for individuals committed to food safety, team leadership, and continuous improvement within the agricultural and food production industry.
