The role of Sanitation Technician at ABM focuses on contract sanitation services primarily within large food manufacturing facilities. This position is ideal for individuals entering or returning to the workforce, offering on-the-job training and requiring no prior experience or advanced education. Sanitation technicians are responsible for executing meticulous cleaning protocols using both wet and dry cleaning methods across various areas such as production lines, silos, shipping zones, manufacturing equipment, machinery, offices, canteens, and bathrooms. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- no high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
- flexible work schedule with possible changes throughout the week
- must arrive on time and work entire scheduled hours
- ability to work at all heights within the facility
- ability to communicate safety and health matters effectively
- committed to following all safety procedures and guidelines
- able to report equipment problems immediately
- able to perform physically demanding tasks including sweeping, mopping, and equipment disassembly/reassembly
Job Qualifications
- No experience required with on the job training provided
- prior food plant sanitation or related experience a plus
- 1 year of similar work experience preferred
- knowledge of lock out tag out safety program
- ability to work in confined spaces and all environmental conditions
- ability to learn and operate industrial equipment like scissor lift, boom lift, and floor scrubber
Job Duties
- Perform all tasks assigned based on ABM sanitation program
- follow all food safety and safety guidelines
- disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment
- accurately and safely clean equipment area or periodic work
- sweep, mop, and maintain offices, restrooms, and lunchrooms as well as outside parameters
- follow and maintain the sanitation program utilizing a master cleaning schedule
- work with leadership to maintain plant procedures and operations guidelines
- perform daily self-inspection systems and techniques to monitor sanitation issues
