The position available at Heidi's Sandwichboard is a full-time role encompassing responsibilities as a Sandwich Line Cook, Prep Cook, and Catering Assistant. This multifaceted role is essential to supporting the kitchen’s daily food preparation, sandwich line operations, and catering services. Hours are scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday between 9am and 3 to 5pm, ensuring no late nights or early mornings, with flexible scheduling options potentially available according to business needs.
As a Sandwich Line Cook and Prep Cook, the successful candidate will prepare fresh ingredients such as vegetables, meats, cheeses, and sauces daily, ensuring exact portions are prepared and properly labeled. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of prep stations, coolers, and storage areas is critical to smooth operations. The individual will ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are rigorously followed at all times.
Responsibilities as a Sandwich Line Cook include accurately and efficiently preparing sandwiches and menu items, maintaining high standards for food presentation and quality, and collaborating closely with front-of-house staff during busy service periods. The position also requires keeping the sandwich line orderly and restocking ingredients as needed during shifts. Additionally, the candidate will support catering operations by assisting with preparation of catering orders, assembling trays, platters, and boxed lunches, helping with loading and setup of catering orders, and ensuring timely completion of catering items. Strong communication with team members is necessary, especially for large or time-sensitive orders.
