Job Description

Pearson Electronics is a reputable and well-established electronics manufacturing company based in Palo Alto, California, specializing in the production of wide-band current transformer product lines. With a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Pearson Electronics has been a successful player in the electronics industry. The company values its employees and fosters a work environment that emphasizes teamwork, organization, and attention to detail. The production area at Pearson Electronics is characterized by its clean, organized layout, where approximately 20 team members collaborate to meet production goals efficiently and effectively. The company's culture is focused on maintaining high-quality standards, which is supported by its adherence to calibration standards and quality control documentation, including familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

The role of Production Manufacturing Engineer at Pearson Electronics is a hands-on position that plays a crucial part in coordinating the workflow on the production floor and ensuring the quality of manufacturing processes. The engineer will be involved with various operational aspects such as purchasing, quality control, scheduling, and troubleshooting quality assurance issues. This role requires a multifaceted individual who is flexible and able to contribute to a variety of tasks within this small but successful electronics company. The Production Manufacturing Engineer will directly interact with production staff, purchasing managers, QA management, and sales teams to achieve seamless production operations that meet customer deadlines.

Key responsibilities of the Production Manufacturing Engineer include understanding quality control documentation and calibration standards, starting and scheduling production jobs, ensuring materials and supplies are adequately stocked, and purchasing necessary tools and supplies. This role demands knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly techniques, including the use of handheld tools and soldering irons, along with the ability to troubleshoot and carry out quality checks at the assembly level. Coordination with suppliers is also a vital component, as the engineer inspects incoming materials and addresses quality issues with purchasing. The position requires the ability to generate basic reports using software such as MS Excel, Word, and MAS 90 accounting software. Additionally, assisting the sales team with customer technical issues when necessary highlights the collaborative and versatile nature of this role.

On the other hand, Pearson Electronics is also seeking individuals for the Electro-Mechanical Assembler position, focused on supporting the assembly and sanding-painting operations. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work and wish to contribute to a productive team environment. Although experience in sanding and painting is preferred, comprehensive training is provided, making it accessible to motivated applicants. The assembler position emphasizes good eye-hand coordination, the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, as well as the capacity to lift up to 30 pounds. Understanding manufacturing documentation and assembly-level drawings is also vital to the role.

Both roles offer a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm in a moderate noise-level workspace designed for maximum productivity. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with benefits including paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, medical, dental, and 401(k) plans. Pearson Electronics is committed to fostering a quality-focused and organized production environment where employees can thrive and contribute to the company's continued success.
