Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6+ months of related experience and/or training or combination of equivalent education/training
- Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment with detailed and precise tasks
- Ability to work with customers and stay attentive to their needs
- Physical ability based on department-specific demands including lifting ability ranging from 15 lbs to over 85 lbs depending on the department
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, pivot, twist, push, pull, and perform fine motor movements
- Ability to comply with safety and operating procedures
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 6 months or more of related experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of department production stations including quality standards, setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, production planners, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or partners
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Job Duties
- Serve as backup to department manager and typically work opposite shift to manager
- Help prepare department work schedules
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws
- Assist with inventory control
- load, unload, and move product
- Train partners, direct work, address complaints, resolve issues, build and follow up on production plans and their execution
- Assist in all technical areas as needed
- Perform representative or specialist duties frequently
- Provide and coach on superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answer customer questions regarding products
- assist customers with selections
- Use suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Merchandise products effectively
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- Comply with department and store operating procedures
- Clean and sanitize sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment
- Ensure and oversee effective production planning and execution of supporting processes in Bakery
- Assist in all technical areas like baking, frying, and decorating in Bakery
- Cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- Write on cakes with icing per personalized customer requests
