Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel group sales or a similar role
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Self-starter with proactive sales approach
  • Willingness to attend events and travel
  • Experience with sales systems such as Delphi.fdc and Opera preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel group sales or a similar role
  • Experience in the Long Beach/SoCal market or independent properties preferred
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term client relationships and securing repeat group business
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills with a results-driven mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and remain calm under pressure
  • Self-starter who thrives independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Willingness to attend industry events, host site tours, and travel to represent Hotel Maya at off-site meetings and tradeshows

Job Duties

  • Proactively solicit new group business through outbound sales efforts including calls, site visits, tradeshows, and networking
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key accounts and repeat clients, ensuring exceptional service and high levels of satisfaction
  • Leverage existing network and industry contacts to drive group bookings and long-term partnerships
  • Manage the entire group sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation, event coordination, and rebooking
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and memorable guest experiences
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and lead progress in systems such as Delphi.fdc and Opera
