Job Description
Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks is a distinguished part of the Swickard Auto Group, a rapidly expanding dealership group renowned across the United States for its commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality. Since its founding in 2014 by Jeff Swickard in Wilsonville, Oregon, Swickard Auto Group has transformed the conventional car-buying and servicing experience into one centered around care, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. The company specializes in highline automotive brands including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, Porsche, Lexus, Audi, Land Rover, and more, consistently ranking as one of the fastest-growing dealership groups in the nation according to Automotive News. Their unique culture embraces teamwork, diversity, and a shared ambition to be the customer’s favorite place for purchasing, leasing, or servicing vehicles as well as the employees’ preferred place to work.
The Sales Porter role at Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks offers an excellent full-time career opportunity for individuals looking to enter the automotive industry. This role is pivotal in shaping the overall customer experience since porters often serve as the first and last point of contact with customers. As a Sales Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the pristine condition and optimal presentation of vehicles on the lot, ensuring that every car is displayed to maximize visibility and appeal. Your active, hands-on involvement not only supports the sales team’s efficiency but keeps the dealership environment neat, orderly, and welcoming at all times.
In this position, you will move and stage both new and pre-owned vehicles, deliver cars between service, detail, and reconditioning departments, fuel vehicles, maintain inventory records, and shuttle customers or vehicles when necessary. The role demands reliable physical activity including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and driving a variety of vehicles, including manual transmissions. Safety, punctuality, and attention to detail are critical attributes for success here.
This position also provides a genuine pathway to career advancement within the automotive industry, supported by comprehensive ongoing training, professional growth opportunities, and a leadership development culture. Swickard Auto Group values inclusion and provides a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, 401k plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. Working at Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks means joining a dynamic team dedicated not just to selling cars but redefining hospitality in the automotive world.
With an hourly pay range of $17 to $20, this full-time position is tailored for individuals seeking a rewarding and stable career with room for personal and professional development. The dealership’s commitment to a hospitality-driven approach makes it an ideal environment for driven individuals to embark on a meaningful journey in the auto sales sector while enjoying exceptional employee support and benefits.
