Currently, Martin Automotive Group is seeking a dedicated Sales Porter to join the Subaru of Ontario team. This role is essential to supporting the dealership’s daily operations by ensuring the smooth transportation and care of vehicles and providing courteous assistance to customers. The Sales Porter position involves various responsibilities, including moving vehicles for service, maintenance, deliveries, or customer needs. This role not only necessitates excellent driving skills but also demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and courteous customer interaction. The position reports directly to management and plays a vital role in maintaining the dealership's high standards of operation.
As a Sales Porter at Subaru of Ontario, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing prompt and friendly transportation services to customers while their vehicles are serviced or repaired. Additionally, the role includes the pickup and delivery of packages, parts, and other facility-related errands. Ensuring the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicles handled is paramount, as is adherence to all motor vehicle laws and safety regulations. Attention to detail extends to verifying the currency of registration and license tags and using child restraint seats in compliance with local laws where applicable.
Beyond driving duties, the Sales Porter is also expected to assist with administrative aspects such as obtaining necessary paperwork related to vehicle transfers, ensuring proper handoffs of keys, and maintaining dealer plate records. Regular communication with the General Manager regarding vehicle conditions, incidents, or other relevant updates is an important part of the job. The dealership values continuous learning and expects the Sales Porter to complete all required training and adhere strictly to the policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Job Duties
- Provide friendly, courteous and prompt transportation to customers while the customer's vehicle is being serviced or repaired
- Pick up and deliver packages, parts or mail to the facility and run errands for the facility
- Drive defensively and comply with all motor vehicle laws
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
- Recommend repairs/maintenance work to management
- Ensure registration and license tag are current
- Ensure all occupants wear seatbelts
- Child restraint seats must be used in accordance with local law
- Pick-up and deliver company owned vehicles to dealerships and auctions
- Ensure that vehicles are delivered in the same condition they were received and deliver necessary paperwork and key to appropriate personnel
- Obtain proper paperwork and keys from selling party and return to General Manager
- Ensure Sign off form is completed and maintain procession of dealer plate and return to General Manager
- Turn in expense report and receipts in a timely manner to General Manager
- Notify General Manager about any incidents including speeding tickets, light obstructions, etc
- Notify General Manager about all drivability issues and damage to vehicle
- Complete all training as directed by supervisor
- Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Employee Handbook
- Any other duties as assigned
