Job Description

Ascent Hospitality is a distinguished hotel management company with an extensive portfolio of hotels and an ambitious pipeline of new properties and acquisitions. Unlike many organizations focused solely on growth by numbers, Ascent Hospitality centers its business philosophy around people – their team members and guests alike. This people-first approach fosters a culture that emphasizes memorable experiences, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment where teamwork is paramount. The company is committed to nurturing a professional atmosphere where individuals work together for a unified purpose, exemplifying leadership qualities such as effective communication, responsiveness to others' needs, and the ability to embrace challenges and change. Ascent Hospitality values accomplished individuals who are passionate about serving others and who strive to be trendsetters within the hospitality industry. This cultural foundation makes the company not only a successful enterprise but also an enriching place to build a career.

Currently, Ascent Hospitality is seeking a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to join their team as a Sales Manager. This full-time role is integral to supporting the financial goals of the hotel through the achievement of sales targets by implementing tailored sales and marketing programs in assigned markets. The Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities for the hotel while managing existing client accounts to ensure sustained success. The position requires a candidate who demonstrates an aggressive and strategic approach to sales, including outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, and direct mail efforts. This role entails cultivating new leads and maintaining relationships with demand generators within the market, while proactively and reactively engaging in selling activities aimed at meeting both individual and group sales goals.

In addition to sales generation, the Sales Manager will develop strategic account plans, provide market and economic intelligence, and collaborate with local organizations to enhance brand and product awareness. The role also involves participation in community and industry events such as tradeshows, client events, and sales strategy meetings. A key part of the Sales Manager's responsibilities is to research competitor sales strategies and provide innovative marketing ideas to increase market share and RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room). Serving as the hotel’s authority on sales processes, this position demands strong communication skills and the ability to build partnerships internally with general management, regional sales leaders, and externally with current and potential clients.

The Sales Manager will also support the operational aspects of business transactions, such as preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction during events or programs. Other responsibilities include coordinating crisis communications and upholding both customer service and brand standards. This dynamic role requires a professional who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, and a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation are essential for success in this position. Prior experience in hotel sales, business management, or a similar discipline is highly valued, although the company encourages those with the right aptitude and enthusiasm to apply.

Ascent Hospitality offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance and other supplemental options, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, uniform provisions for most positions, and an exclusive team member hotel discount program. With competitive salary offerings and a supportive work environment, Ascent Hospitality invites motivated and skilled individuals to become part of their growing team dedicated to excellence in hospitality.
