The Sales Manager position at Merlin Entertainments is a critical role within the North American attractions portfolio. This remote role, ideally based in Orlando, FL, focuses on managing inbound group and event inquiries while proactively cultivating new business opportunities with third-party planners, agencies, and corporate clients. The Sales Manager’s responsibilities include converting leads to confirmed bookings, preparing proposals and contracts, and collaborating closely with on-site operations teams to ensure seamless event execution. The role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent communication, and a strategic mindset to position Merlin’s attractions as premier venues for meetings, conferences, corporate events, and incentive experiences. The ideal Sales Manager will be comfortable working independently in a remote setting with occasional travel throughout North America to support site visits and industry events. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in group or event sales
  • Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within North America
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in group sales, event sales, or venue sales, ideally within attractions, theme parks, hospitality, or live entertainment
  • Demonstrated success converting inbound inquiries into booked events and achieving or exceeding revenue targets
  • Familiarity with working across multiple locations or a portfolio of venues
  • Experience building relationships with third-party planners, agencies, or travel trade accounts
  • Strong sales acumen with the ability to qualify quickly, position value, handle objections, and close business
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a polished and professional style
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple inquiries, deadlines, and stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with venue operations and event delivery teams
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with strong self-management and follow-through
  • Proficient with common office software and comfortable learning event management and CRM systems

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all North America MICE and group inquiries across Merlin attractions
  • Respond to inquiries promptly, qualify needs, and convert qualified leads into confirmed bookings in line with revenue and conversion targets
  • Prepare and issue proposals, quotes, and contracts using approved templates, working within established pricing and commercial guidelines
  • Clearly articulate venue capabilities, packages, and experience options, tailoring recommendations to client objectives and budgets
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with on-site attraction teams to confirm availability, feasibility, and pricing for proposed events
  • Coordinate site visits (virtual and in-person) with venue teams and support them with necessary sales information
  • Proactively identify and engage lead sources including third-party planners, group travel partners, DMCs, and venue-finding agencies to generate new group and event opportunities
