The Sales Manager position is a vital role responsible for actively soliciting and mastering knowledge of all accounts within specific market segments assigned by the company. This manager is entrusted with prospecting, nurturing, and closing deals within their assigned accounts and territories to boost hotel revenues effectively. Collaborating closely with the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager aims to strategically achieve the hotel's revenue and market share objectives. Depending on the property assignment, the sales focus might shift between business travel and group sales, enabling the role to adapt according to property needs.

This position requires a proactive and motivated individual capable of exceeding budgeted room revenues while improving the hotel's standing in the marketplace. Sales Managers are expected to maintain strong relationships with both clients and internal teams, attend industry networking events, and implement creative sales promotions such as blitzes and catering deals to stimulate demand. Key performance indicators include meeting sales call goals, monitoring account production, and responding adeptly to market trends. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner
  • solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted rooms revenue and to improve performance in the marketplace
  • conduct sales specific to business travel and/or groups as required by property
  • comply with attainment of individual goals
  • make sales appointments and cold calls to consistently prospect accounts for all direct sales segments
  • regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Accounts Coverage Program
  • monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market
  • meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales
  • invite clients to the hotel for entertainment lunches tours and site inspections
  • assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes
  • attend and participate in daily/weekly Sales Meeting
  • attend monthly meetings of assigned professional organizations
  • participate in required M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled
  • employees must at all times be attentive friendly helpful and courteous to guests other employees and managers
  • attend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management
  • meet and greet onsite contacts
  • react to negative trends in marketplace by implementing blitzes or catering promotions
  • handle inquiries as part of Inquiry Day Program
  • perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales
