Job Requirements
- Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must have attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate strong organizational and presentation skills
- Physically able to stand for long periods and walk around property to conduct tours
- Ability to operate office machinery including computers and telephone systems
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to interpret documents, business records, and statistics in English
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily
- May require some travel to meet prospective and current clients
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associates degree preferred
- Sales experience in hospitality or related field
- Well connected professionally in the local market
- Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and provide friendly, professional service
Job Duties
- Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue
- Meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue monthly while negotiating with supervision within guidelines
- Promptly handle inquiry calls and monitor paperwork flow for group confirmations
- Drive business development adapting to market demands and strategies
- Compile prospective client lists using various sources
- Conduct in-person sales calls regularly
- Entertain potential clients on site as directed
- Use qualified account reports during sales visits
- Monitor competitor pricing, services, and group activities
- Evaluate business profitability with management guidance
- Coordinate Sales group functions and prepare sales contracts and group resumes
- Follow up on group booking progress including room pickup and rooming lists
- Solicit repeat business and follow up on bookings
- Participate in hotel RFP process
- Meet and greet clients on arrival and conduct daily visits
- Obtain, document, and route all necessary group information including billing and VIP arrangements
- Develop new business accounts through competition and new market contact
- Coordinate and participate in monthly sales blitzes
- Maintain and develop third-party group booking websites
- Assist in digital marketing, social media campaigns, and website initiatives to promote the hotel
