In the role of Sales Lead, you play a pivotal part in advancing and securing sales within a designated territory by delivering exceptional service to existing sales accounts and driving incremental business growth through strategic, consultative selling techniques. Your responsibilities include representing the voice of the customer, educating clients on products that meet their needs, and frequently visiting accounts to maximize revenue potential. You will create and execute individual sales plans tailored to customer needs and geographical considerations, ensuring alignment with customer business strategies and goals. As a Sales Lead, you will also be accountable for merchandising activities in the absence of a support representative, including stocking shelves and building displays. This role requires adaptability, as it may involve working nights and weekends for promotions and account activities. The position also highlights the importance of customer follow-up to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of orders, further supporting strong business relationships.

Job Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school
  • Four year college degree preferred
  • 3-6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires a current, valid state drivers license
  • Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the company
  • Strong client skills and experience understanding customer needs

Job Duties

  • Represents the voice of the customer
  • Performs functions to service the needs of existing customers within assigned territory
  • Educates the customer on the right products for them
  • Uses informed selling to introduce new products and close gaps in existing distribution
  • Visits accounts frequently to provide service and maximize revenue potential
  • Establishes individual sales plan that considers customer needs and geographies to create effective and efficient customer outreach
  • Sets the overall selling plan for each customer
  • Works closely with customers to understand and support their business strategies, goals, and objectives
  • Follows-up with customer to ensure their orders are delivered accurately and promptly
  • Responsible for merchandising activities such as stocking shelves and building displays if no support representative partner
  • Develops sales skills and knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and customers
  • May work nights and weekends on promotional activities and other account activities
