The Group Concierge role at Hornblower Group is a vital position focused on enhancing the post-purchase experience for group guests. This position emphasizes relationship-building, operational coordination, and revenue generation through upselling. The Group Concierge serves as a key liaison between customers and the Hornblower team, handling the logistics of group bookings to ensure smooth and memorable events. Reporting either to the General Manager or the Senior Concierge Manager depending on the location, the Group Concierge is tasked with managing detailed event coordination that includes site visits, passenger adjustments, upsell opportunities, and direct client communication. This role requires a proactive approach to increasing average order value while maintaining exceptional guest relationships.

The successful candidate will develop an expert understanding of Hornblower’s vessels, products, and services to effectively advise clients and resolve potential objections. Working closely with sales and operational teams, the Group Concierge will act as a resource during site visits and on event days, ensuring all event details are meticulously executed for optimal guest satisfaction. This role supports a fast-paced and flexible work environment that may demand evening and weekend hours including presence during high-profile events. The Group Concierge will also oversee administrative duties such as payment collection, documentation in Salesforce, and reporting to maintain transparency and organizational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • minimum of 1 year experience in sales support or event coordination
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • maintain a high level of organization and be detail-oriented
  • handle multiple tasks and projects at one time
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility
  • listen effectively assess the situation determine relevant issues and suggest solutions
  • work with Microsoft Office applications especially Word Excel PowerPoint
  • must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends to accommodate site inspections and guest needs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • develop a comprehensive knowledge of all regional vessels, products and enhancements
  • take the lead on post-contract follow-ups including passenger count adjustments and upsells to groups
  • successfully upsell existing guests to higher-value options and enhancements
  • follow City Cruises guidance on when and how to follow up with clients to present revenue generation opportunities through order enhancements
  • handle objections as they arise by using vast product knowledge
  • maintain a flexible weekly schedule including night and weekend demand while conducting site visits, cruise detail meetings and meeting clients
  • serve as a resource for the sales team including conducting site visits and greeting clients upon boarding to be the local resource when a national account manager is not present
  • serve as the primary point of contact for client post-booking
  • be present during highly detailed events and serve as the liaison between sales and operations
  • ensure complete and accurate product details are communicated to Food & Beverage and Operation teams to ensure proper execution
  • manage a minimum of 50 events per month including all details
  • develop strong rapport with guests including thanking, gaining feedback, asking for referrals, rebooking and requesting survey completion
  • work with General Manager and Director of Sales to resolve guest issues timely
  • manage all administrative and operational activities including payment collection
  • answer all post-booking inquiries leveraging deep vessel and product knowledge
  • ensure guests are billed correctly for extra services according to contract
  • document guest interactions in Salesforce emphasizing detailed notes and task management
  • compile necessary reports for bi-weekly meetings making cruise details visible to sales and operations team
  • additional job duties as assigned
