Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and innovative service delivery. Founded on a legacy of quality and customer-focused hospitality, Marriott International operates a vast portfolio of hotels and resorts, including luxury brands such as JW Marriott. Located at 7121 Bishop Rd, Plano, Texas, the JW Marriott property offers a unique blend of luxury and local charm, serving a diverse clientele that values both comfort and sophistication. The hotel’s dedication to holistic well-being extends not just to its guests but also to its employees, fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes personal growth, diversity, and a supportive community. The company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values the unique backgrounds and talents of every associate. With a competitive pay range of $29.81 to $38.94 per hour, along with eligibility for bonuses, this full-time management position at JW Marriott in Plano represents an exciting career opportunity for professionals in sales and marketing within the hospitality sector.
The role focuses on managing customer inquiries and lead requests for locally driven groups that require between 10 to 300 peak room nights. This position is key to driving revenue growth by aligning customer preferences with available hotel group sales parameters, ensuring that each booking maximizes potential revenue while maintaining strong customer loyalty. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with various internal sales channels and on-property teams, such as area sales, group sales, hotel attractions, and outlets, to create a cohesive and effective sales strategy tailored to local market demands. This multifaceted role requires handling business correspondence, contract creation, and effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders to guarantee a seamless sales process and high customer satisfaction.
The candidate will also be responsible for up-selling opportunities, utilizing knowledge of resort amenities like golf, spa, and recreational options, and maintaining awareness of market conditions, competitor analysis, and economic trends. Understanding the importance of destination selling is critical to successfully closing business and meeting property needs. The role demands an individual who can implement best practices, leverage company marketing initiatives, and collaborate with support staff to reach personal and team revenue objectives.
Beyond sales activities, this position plays a significant role in relationship management, building and strengthening connections with new and existing customers, and delivering seamless service that encourages repeat business. The role includes conducting site inspections when necessary and participating in pre- and post-event meetings to ensure client needs are met and to gather feedback on service quality. Effective turnover from sales to event management and other operational departments is essential to maintain high service levels throughout the customer journey.
This management role embodies the company's values by delivering excellent customer service, supporting operational aspects of booked business, and addressing guest issues promptly by collaborating with property leadership. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales, marketing, guest services, or related professional areas with a minimum of two years of experience or possess a relevant two-year degree. Group sales experience is preferred but not required.
Joining JW Marriott means being part of a dynamic and supportive team committed to innovation, excellence, and hospitality that celebrates diversity. The company offers opportunities for professional development, training, and recognition in a luxury environment that encourages associates to pursue their passions and become the best versions of themselves. As a key player in Marriott International's luxury portfolio, JW Marriott offers a distinctive career path for sales and marketing professionals eager to contribute to a legacy of wonderful hospitality everywhere.
