D'Artagnan is a prestigious brand that operates as part of Fortune Fish & Gourmet, one of the leading processors, distributors, and importers of premium seafood, meats, and gourmet products in the United States. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Union, New Jersey, D'Artagnan has become synonymous with quality, sustainability, and innovation in the foodservice industry. The company is highly regarded for its dedication to natural, sustainable, and humane production methods, sourcing products from farmers and ranchers who prioritize free-range, preservative-free, and organic practices. With an impressive revenue of over $170 million and a dedicated workforce of around 260 employees, D'Artagnan stands as a powerhouse within three distinct business lines: Food Services, Retail, and Online. Each business line operates with a unique model tailored to meet the specific needs of different customer segments ranging from hotels and restaurants to individual consumers across all 50 states in America. The company’s reputation has been built on a foundation of delivering the highest quality products, earning the trust and admiration of world-class chefs and discerning customers across the nation.
As part of Fortune Fish & Gourmet, D'Artagnan embodies a mission to "elevate meals and lives" by combining unmatched product quality and selection with responsible sourcing and a profound commitment to the success of both its customers and team members. The organization promotes a culture of excellence, innovation, and sustainability, reflected in every aspect of its operations and relationships. The growing popularity of the D'Artagnan website further reinforces the brand's position as a trusted destination for home cooks and culinary professionals seeking restaurant-quality ingredients and specialty food products.
The Sales Consultant (SC) role at D'Artagnan is a vital position within the sales division, focused on developing and nurturing strong, profitable customer relationships. The SC is instrumental in driving revenue growth and maximizing gross profit by aligning strategic customer needs with tailored product solutions and exceptional service. This role involves collaborating closely with chefs, restaurateurs, hospitality professionals, and retailers to ensure that their unique business goals are met with the appropriate products and services. The Sales Consultant promotes premium seafood, humanely raised meats, poultry, game, and a variety of gourmet products such as cheese and chocolate, combining culinary passion with professional sales expertise.
This position requires a dynamic individual capable of conducting consultative sales approaches, networking, and leveraging deep market knowledge to cultivate new business avenues as well as expand existing accounts. The SC operates in close partnership with internal teams including product, logistics, and finance to synchronize inventory levels, ensure timely deliveries, and manage credit terms effectively. They play a strategic role in executing sales plans, organizing daily activities, and utilizing customer management systems and social media platforms to identify and engage prospects.
Customer engagement is a key service aspect of this role. The Sales Consultant acts as a trusted advisor to clients, swiftly addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure satisfaction and long-term loyalty. Collaboration extends internally as well, with the SC working closely with senior staff and the Sales Director to develop competitive pricing strategies and contribute to a culture of teamwork and innovation. This multifaceted role not only demands advanced communication skills and proficiency with digital tools but also values personal attributes such as motivation, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail.
Local candidates are preferred for this role, and no relocation support is offered. The company is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within its workforce. The successful candidate will join a passionate team environment at D'Artagnan, where entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to excellence are highly valued. This is an outstanding opportunity for a sales professional seeking to advance their career within a renowned company dedicated to quality and sustainability in the culinary industry.
