Job Description

Performance Foodservice is a leading broadline foodservice distributor that partners with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. As part of the Performance Food Group (PFG), one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, Performance Foodservice combines extensive industry expertise and a customer-centric approach to provide tailored solutions that help businesses thrive. The company’s dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts work closely with customers to not only deliver high-quality food products but also to offer valuable advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and overall operational strategies. This support enables independent restaurant owners and various foodservice businesses to focus on what matters most: creating memorable dining experiences and achieving their business goals.

The Area Manager role at Performance Foodservice is a vital position responsible for managing a defined geographical sales territory. This position plays a key role in driving business growth by developing and maintaining relationships with independent and regional accounts within the assigned territory. The Area Manager is accountable for meeting budgeted sales and profit objectives through strategic planning and execution of business plans. This leadership position requires effective management of time and resources to maximize sales results and ensure customer satisfaction. The Area Manager also supports the promotion of company-branded products while maintaining pricing strategies and monitoring credit compliance across the assigned accounts.

This role demands a hands-on approach to sales management, including regular customer visits to build and sustain strong relationships with both existing and potential clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute directly to Performance Foodservice’s mission of delivering quality food and operational excellence. Through collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, the Area Manager provides expert advice and solutions that encourage customer loyalty, increase sales volume, and enhance profitability.

Employment with Performance Foodservice is under an equal employment opportunity policy that supports diversity and inclusion, ensuring a respectful workplace free of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team, committed to achieving sales targets and supporting the company’s values and goals. The position offers the opportunity for professional growth within a well-established and respected foodservice distribution company, emphasizing a culture of support, innovation, and customer success.
