Job Description
Aloft by Marriott Providence Downtown is a contemporary hotel located in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island. Part of the globally recognized Marriott International portfolio, Aloft Hotels is known for its vibrant, modern design and emphasis on creating a connected and dynamic experience for its guests. This establishment serves as a central hub for travelers in downtown Providence, offering stylish accommodations, a lively social atmosphere, and easy access to the city’s cultural and business landmarks. Aloft by Marriott Providence Downtown prides itself on fostering a welcoming environment where guests can relax, connect, and enjoy outstanding service.
This is a full-time, non-management position based at the Aloft by Marriott Providence Downtown property, specifically in the Administrative category. The role focuses on supporting event planning and execution within the hotel, providing comprehensive sales support to General Managers on-site, and completing various administrative tasks as delegated. The person hired will act as the primary point of contact for guests organizing and attending meetings at the hotel, ensuring their overall experience is seamless and exceeds expectations. Additionally, this position serves as the main liaison to the Group Sales Office and Area Sales teams, coordinating communication and updates to maintain efficient operations.
The responsibilities extend to collecting, developing, and submitting content to refresh and update the hotel’s website within the Marriott.com network, helping to maintain a compelling online presence that attracts future clientele. Duties involve not just administrative support but also hands-on interaction with customers, requiring a polished and professional demeanor while adhering strictly to Marriott’s policies and standards. The candidate will also contribute actively to maintaining guest satisfaction by welcoming guests warmly, anticipating their needs, and resolving any service issues diligently.
Given the fast-paced nature of the hospitality industry, this role demands flexibility, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will need to be well-organized and able to multitask efficiently under the guidance of the General Managers. Physical requirements include being on one’s feet for extended periods, with occasional light lifting or moving of objects up to 10 pounds. This job is an excellent fit for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, supporting operational teams, and working in a vibrant hotel setting that values both professionalism and personality.
Aloft Hotels stands out from traditional hotels by creating a welcoming, approachable environment for guests whether they are out for leisure or business. Joining Aloft means becoming part of an incredible global team and a brand committed to growth, inclusivity, and excellence. Marriott International is dedicated to equal employment opportunity and celebrates diversity, ensuring that all team members feel valued and able to achieve their best selves. This opportunity combines the robust support of a leading international hospitality brand with the dynamic and youthful spirit that Aloft Hotels embodies.
