Job Requirements
- minimum 2 years catering sales experience or equivalent education and experience
- valid driver’s license
- reliable transportation
- proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and property management software
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- ability to negotiate contracts
- ability to manage customer relationships and expectations
- strong presentation skills
- ability to work outside sales calls approximately 50 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- minimum 2 years catering sales or 2 years in hotel catering, convention services, banquet, hotel sales or culinary arts
- familiarity with brand specific property management systems such as Delphi
- excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills
- ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to analyze business potential and value
- valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Job Duties
- handle and follow up on inquiries for small meetings or events with or without guestrooms
- negotiate contracts and banquet event orders (BEO)
- communicate group details and changes to all hotel departments
- present potential business at sales meetings to determine best customer mix
- finalize and detail catering plans for groups and orchestrate functions on-site or off-site
- prospect for new catering business using various methods including phone and outside sales calls
- monitor blocked space to ensure groups meet contractual obligations
