Job Requirements

minimum 2 years catering sales experience or equivalent education and experience
valid driver’s license
reliable transportation
proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and property management software
excellent communication and organizational skills
ability to negotiate contracts
ability to manage customer relationships and expectations
strong presentation skills
ability to work outside sales calls approximately 50 percent of the time

Job Qualifications

minimum 2 years catering sales or 2 years in hotel catering, convention services, banquet, hotel sales or culinary arts
familiarity with brand specific property management systems such as Delphi
excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills
ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence
ability to analyze business potential and value
valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Job Duties

handle and follow up on inquiries for small meetings or events with or without guestrooms
negotiate contracts and banquet event orders (BEO)
communicate group details and changes to all hotel departments
present potential business at sales meetings to determine best customer mix
finalize and detail catering plans for groups and orchestrate functions on-site or off-site
prospect for new catering business using various methods including phone and outside sales calls
monitor blocked space to ensure groups meet contractual obligations
