Job Description

Panera Bread is a leading fast-casual bakery-cafe chain renowned for serving freshly baked bread and high-quality food and beverages. Founded with a commitment to provide clean, wholesome food made from real ingredients, Panera has grown substantially and built a strong reputation for customer satisfaction and community involvement. The company operates across numerous locations throughout the United States, combining a welcoming atmosphere with a focus on health-conscious menu options such as fresh salads, sandwiches, soups, and bakery items. Panera places a strong emphasis on creating a positive work environment where employees feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow professionally and personally. Recognized for its inclusive culture and dedication to employee well-being, Panera offers a variety of benefits, competitive wages, and opportunities for career advancement within the company. This culture-centric approach makes Panera a preferred workplace for many individuals passionate about food service and hospitality.

The Salad and Sandwich Maker role at Panera Bread is pivotal in maintaining the brand's reputation for quality and customer service. As a Retail Team Member, candidates will be responsible for preparing and assembling fresh salads, plating soups, and making sandwiches using real, high-quality ingredients — reflecting Panera's commitment to freshness and accuracy rather than an assembly line approach. This role is designed for dynamic individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to contribute to an excellent guest experience by delivering warm, friendly service consistently. Beyond just food preparation, the position involves maintaining a clean and organized workspace, participating in timely cleaning and stocking duties, and being informed of daily priorities to ensure smooth operations. The Salad and Sandwich Maker is also expected to embody Panera's guiding values, contributing positively to the workplace culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust. Those who join Panera can expect flexible scheduling, competitive pay, eligibility for team tips, paid vacation and holidays for full-time members, and comprehensive insurance benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life, among others. Career development and tuition discounts further support personal and professional growth. This role requires flexibility including the ability to work nights and weekends, physical stamina to lift up to 25 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods, and clear communication skills. Panera is committed to equal opportunity employment and supports diversity by welcoming applications from disabled persons and veterans. The pay for this position varies based on experience, knowledge, skills, and location, ensuring fair compensation for all team members.
