Job Requirements
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting agency
- four years of general experience in safety and accident prevention work
- one year of experience with responsibility for an organized safety and accident prevention program
- or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience

Job Duties
- Consults with superintendents and fire wardens regarding fire control and prevention methods
- advises on and assists in planning periodic fire and evacuation drills
- investigates all fires and accidents and prepares reports
- assists in safety education and training programs
- inspects fire emergency equipment and fire alarm systems
- records and follows up on violations filed by municipal agencies
- analyzes and maintains statistics related to fires and accidents
- maintains liaison with city agencies and fire prevention associations
