Job Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to interact regularly with production, distribution, and business function employees on-site
- Willingness to learn or experience in regulatory compliance, incident management, and consumer affairs
- Innovative, tech-savvy, and transformation leadership skills
- Strong leadership capabilities including self-leadership and team leadership
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to build strong internal and external networks
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities effectively
- Strong time management skills including planning, scheduling, and organizing
- Ability to travel 15 to 25 percent locally or nationally with some overnight stays required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in QSE related science such as Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, QSE Management, Risk Management, or QSE Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of QSE field experience in warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or transportation operations
- General industry trainings including OSHA 10, OSHA 30, HAZWOPER
- Strong knowledge of QSE standards and regulatory compliance including OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, CDC, and DOH
- Experience in auditing and workers compensation
- Proficient in OSHA recordkeeping
Job Duties
- Partner with the Site General Manager/Plant Manager to define and improve QSE culture
- Verify QSE programs meet all regulatory and stakeholder requirements for production and distribution settings
- Create and develop training tools, processes, and programs to enhance QSE capability and culture
- Develop annual QSE performance goals such as LTIR, TRIR, MFI, CPM, WUR, EUR
- Implement management routines, audits, and inspections to improve QSE performance
- Develop and roll out systems, policies, and routines to assess risk, set goals, and drive accountability
- Create comprehensive multi-year QSE strategies for assigned production and distribution centers
- Serve as an effective QSE leader and role model influencing employees and QSE teams
- Develop QSE metrics, scorecards, and reporting systems to track performance
- Utilize data and assessments to identify risks and prevent incidents and injuries
- Demonstrate passion for winning and strong execution drive
