Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in safety management or related role
  • Experience working in an airport or aviation environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, aviation management or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in safety management within the aviation or transportation industry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Knowledge of aviation ground operations and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop operational plans and manage manpower effectively
  • Proficient in risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement safety plan for base
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Have a complete understanding of all contract details by carrier and base to ensure revenue maximization
  • Meet or exceed manpower targets at each base
  • Hold station staff accountable for meeting safety, financial, and operational objectives
  • Develop base-specific plans for approval by Regional Manager covering safety, manpower, training, and schedule changes
  • Assess and develop leads for succession planning
  • Develop relationships with key customer contacts within base
  • Establish and communicate station goals to staff
  • Maintain open relationships with frontline personnel
  • Understand manpower methodology, planning and sked plans with Regional Manager and HR
  • Assist in interviewing and selection of employees
  • Coordinate training and re-certifications
  • Oversee aircraft turnaround activities
  • Ensure processes meet SLA standards and safety requirements
