Job Requirements

  • Education at bachelor's degree level or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of occupational safety experience
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent including overnight stays
  • Experience in accident investigation and safety training development
  • Capability to operate company or personal vehicle for business travel

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business or related field
  • Minimum of five years of directly related experience preferably in a heavy industrial environment
  • Certified Safety Professional credentials preferred
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of occupational safety in the designated region implementing safety programs ensuring compliance with government and industry standards and communicating safety related matters to senior management
  • Establish and maintain a safety presence by attending safety meetings mandated training and performing walk around inspections
  • Monitor safety regulations advise management of changes and integrate them into policies and procedures
  • Develop enhance and provide training programs ensuring operational safety readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to managers supervisors and field personnel on safety matters
  • Assist in maintaining statistical accident incident rate and severity information for business units and corporate level
  • Conduct comprehensive accident and injury investigations
