Job Qualifications

  • Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental safety, or related field
  • Five years of experience managing safety in construction projects
  • Possess one of the following BCSP certifications: CSP, ASP, CHST, STSC, CIT, or STS
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on complex projects
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, record keeping, and injury management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to interact professionally with all management levels
  • CPR/First Aid, EMT, and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications preferred
  • Ability to access all points of construction sites in varying climates
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, listen, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to relocate and travel as required

Job Duties

  • Manage company environmental health and safety programs at the project level
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret occupational illness and accident data
  • Recommend process and product safety features to reduce hazards
  • Routinely inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment for hazards and compliance
  • Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and provide coaching
  • Develop environmental health and safety training materials
  • Maintain paperwork management system for tracking training records
  • Interpret safety regulations and ensure compliance
  • Coordinate and present safety training sessions for client requirements
  • Interface with OSHA and other safety officials during site visits
