Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in safety or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in safety and environmental program management
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Proof of valid insurance
  • Basic computer skills including Excel and Word
  • Skilled in government contracting terminology and requirements
  • Experience with safety and environmental regulations
  • Experience in accident investigation and reporting
  • Minimum two years experience in support services contracts
  • Skilled in hazardous waste management
  • Experience with environmental compliance assessment
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in safety or 5 years experience as a safety professional
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in safety and environmental program management
  • Skilled in government contracting terminology and requirements
  • Experience with safety and environmental regulations applicable to contract obligations
  • Experience in accident investigation and reporting principles
  • Minimum of two years broad experience in support services contracts, preferably in field maintenance operations
  • Skilled in hazardous waste management, manifesting, and shipping
  • Experience with environmental compliance assessment and program management
  • Basic experience in equipment maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms
  • Superior analytical ability and mature judgment
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pipefitting, painting, and general construction activities
  • Good administrative skills.

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage the Safety and Environmental program for the Base Operations Maintenance contract
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on safety and environmental programs
  • Conduct training on confined space, airfield driving, HAZCOM, PPE safety, and other relevant safety protocols
  • Ensure completion of Activity Hazard Analysis for all company work tasks
  • Coordinate asbestos and lead-based paint remediation activities
  • Interface with government safety offices to maintain OSHA and military safety compliance
  • Manage vehicle fleet accountability, registration, and the CDL program
  • Investigate all safety-related incidents and coordinate corrective actions
  • Supervise Safety/Environmental Inspectors and oversee their performance
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and practices
  • Manage hazardous waste collection, storage, labeling, and disposal
  • Oversee Spill Response Team activities related to hazardous material spills
  • Prepare hazardous waste and material inventory reports
  • Maintain records per OSHA and labor code requirements
  • Develop, implement, and update safety plans, policies, and manuals
  • Provide technical advice and support to project management
  • Develop and conduct environmental and safety training programs
  • Perform environmental compliance assessments and manage related programs
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and environmental requirements
  • Oversee Foul Weather Gear and Safety Boot Programs
  • Maintain coordination with regulatory agencies and base officials
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual safety and environmental reports
  • Conduct accident investigations and implement preventive measures.
