Job Requirements
- Five years of experience in aviation operations and/or safety and risk
- Associate's Degree in Aviation preferred
- AAAE Airport Certified Employee SMS certification desired
- Ability to present ideas to large audiences and industry groups
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Ability to work off-shift as needed including snow operations
- Ability to work in a hybrid/in-office environment
- Washington State residency required within 30 days of employment
- Compliance with all safety and PPE requirements
- Successful completion of TSA and FBI background checks
- Obtain Port of Seattle ID badge and U.S. Customs Customs Seal within 30 days
Job Qualifications
- Five years of experience in aviation operations and/or safety and risk
- Associate's Degree in Aviation preferred
- American Association of Airport Executives Airport Certified Employee Safety Management Systems certification desired
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships across jurisdictions and functional areas
- Knowledge of risk and safety management constructs and ability to apply them
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Job Duties
- Manage various safety programs and deliver key performance indicators in accordance with federal requirements
- Monitor and interpret changes in FAA Safety Management System regulations and evaluate airport impact
- Develop and monitor long and short-term program plans, tracking risks, budget, milestones, and schedules
- Identify safety trends to improve airfield performance and align operational priorities
- Create detailed management reports, presentations, and weekly safety dashboards
- Produce and distribute safety bulletins and documentation to stakeholders
- Administer Veoci SMS data platform, Office 365 SharePoint, and MS Teams and provide departmental support
- Plan and implement mitigations to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance customer satisfaction
- Participate as a Port representative in industry groups and committees
