Job Description
MV Transportation is a leading provider of passenger transportation services, known for its commitment to safety, quality, and reliable service. With a focus on serving public transit agencies, schools, medical facilities, and corporate clients across the United States, MV Transportation has established itself as a trusted partner in the transportation industry. The company emphasizes innovation, compliance with regulatory standards, and a culture of safety for all its employees and clients. As part of its growth and continued dedication to excellence, MV Transportation provides comprehensive training, safety programs, and support to ensure that operational standards exceed industry expectations. Operating within complex regulatory frameworks such as those enforced by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and Department of Transportation (DOT), MV Transportation ensures its divisions maintain consistent compliance and uphold the highest safety protocols.
The Safety and Training Manager role at MV Transportation is an integral leadership position dedicated to overseeing and managing the safety and training functions within the operating division. This hands-on managerial role requires the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and training procedures in full compliance with State and Federal regulations, as well as corporate and client-specific policies. The manager is tasked with setting a strong safety culture by ensuring that all operators meet mandatory training requirements and adhere to safety practices designed to reduce accidents and improve workplace safety. This includes maintaining current safety manuals and policies tailored to the operational needs of each division.
The Safety and Training Manager acts as the subject matter expert in areas related to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) compliance, and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. With this expertise, the role proactively applies safety technology tools to monitor safety performance, analyze trends, and develop strategic plans to prevent future incidents. Additionally, this manager oversees corporate safety incentive programs and ensures their consistent and effective application. Coordinating with departments such as operations, maintenance, and corporate claims staff, the role plays a critical part in minimizing financial liability through effective management of worker's compensation and liability claims. This includes working with medical facilities to expedite the return of injured employees to work through light-duty assignments.
Successful candidates will lead audits conducted by corporate, client, and governmental agencies, ensuring full regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the role is responsible for promoting a unified safety culture that encourages teamwork and individual accountability across multiple departments and locations. The ideal candidate exhibits strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills and leverages technology such as Microsoft Office suite and Windows-based systems to enhance reporting and training effectiveness.
This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary range of $78,000 to $98,000, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required. MV Transportation values diversity and upholds an Equal Employment Opportunity policy, fostering an inclusive workplace environment. Employees can expect a well-rounded role where they lead safety initiatives that impact the overall success and wellbeing of the organization and its employees.
