Job Description

Within this dynamic environment, the OPS Hospitality Service PA Health Screeners department is seeking dedicated Safety and Security Ambassadors. These ambassadors play a pivotal role in various hospitality and security functions across the campus. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Safety and Security, these team members are responsible for staffing multiple family hospitality and safety service points, including hospital information desks, waiting room desks in ICU and NICU, operating room waiting areas, discharge lobbies, and entrance points to different buildings on campus. Their role requires vigilance in monitoring safety and security concerns, ensuring a safe environment while providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to follow instructions, and proficiency with computers. The ambassadors act as both greeters and security monitors, performing duties that enhance the overall healthcare experience at UAMS. This is a regular, benefits-eligible position with a salary commensurate with education and experience and does not offer sponsorship. The role demands physical activity and dedication to safety, security, and hospitality excellence, making it an integral part of the UAMS community.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in security or hospitality customer service
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally
  • Proficiency with computer systems
  • Strong observational skills to identify safety and security issues
  • Commitment to follow company safety policies and procedures
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience in security and/or hospitality customer service roles
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to perform work safely and follow company policies
  • Ability to monitor work area for safety and security concerns

Job Duties

  • Provide staffing for multiple family hospitality and safety service points including hospital information desks and waiting room desks
  • Monitor designated working areas for safety and security concerns
  • Report safety and security issues to the supervisor or UAMS Police Department
  • Interact professionally and assist the public with effective communication and a friendly demeanor
  • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure safe work practices
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and ancillary departments
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders with exceptional customer service
