Job Description
Pete's RV Center is a family-owned business that has been proudly serving families across New England, Northern New York, the Mid-West, and Southern regions since 1952. As the number one RV dealership in New England, Pete's RV Center has built a stellar reputation for quality, service, and dedication to outdoor enjoyment. The company operates several dealerships spanning Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Indiana, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maine. With decades of experience and a wide-reaching footprint, Pete's RV Center is dedicated to providing exceptional products and outstanding customer service to outdoor enthusiasts. The company values its employees as vital contributors to its continued growth and success in a highly competitive market.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Lot Porter to join our expanding tractor team. This full-time opportunity offers an hourly wage ranging between $18.00 and $20.00, reflecting our commitment to attracting skilled team members. The Lot Porter role is central to maintaining the appearance and operational efficiency of our expansive RV lots. The ideal candidate will possess experience towing and operating tractors and forklifts, with heavy equipment experience considered an advantage. While a commercial driver's license (CDL) is not required, the candidate must demonstrate a strong ability to safely maneuver RVs and handle yard equipment.
As a vital member of the Pete's RV Center team, the Lot Porter is responsible for parking, moving, and guiding RV units in a timely manner, ensuring the lot is clean and well-maintained through activities such as sweeping, trash collection, and organizing the units securely against weather conditions. Attention to detail is paramount as the Lot Porter ensures that RV slide-outs are retracted, jacks are down, steps are correctly positioned, and selected awnings and doors are appropriately managed. Keeping the work environment safe and visually appealing for customers and coworkers alike is a daily priority. Additionally, the role involves performing various miscellaneous duties and occasionally transporting units locally.
The position emphasizes physical stamina, requiring prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending, along with the ability to lift and move items with or without assistive devices. Overall, this role is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work environment, enjoy working outdoors, and have practical skills in equipment handling and minor maintenance. Joining Pete's RV Center means becoming part of a dynamic and supportive family-owned company that is committed to employee success and career growth in the RV and outdoor recreational industry.
