We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Runner/Expo to join our team. This role is critical as the linchpin between the kitchen and guests, ensuring the seamless delivery of food and communication that enhances the overall dining experience. The Runner/Expo will be responsible for reading food tickets, finishing plates with finesse, and delivering food swiftly and accurately to guests. Acting as a bridge between the back of house and front of house, this role requires excellent multitasking abilities and a strong sense of responsibility to maintain smooth kitchen and dining room operations.
In addition to running food, the Runner/Expo will describe dishes being served to guests, ensuring their satisfaction, and respond promptly to any special requests or needs. This role also entails assisting servers with side work during less busy times and making sure that the station is fully stocked and clean for efficient service. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience as a runner or expo preferred
- ability to stand and move for extended periods
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of food handling and safety practices
Job Duties
- Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
- describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
- retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
- assist servers in side work during down times
- be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
- maintain a clean workstation
