The role of Runner/Expo is central to the smooth operation of both our kitchen and dining areas. This position functions as the critical link between the back of house and the front of house, ensuring that menu items are completed perfectly and delivered promptly to guests. The Runner/Expo is responsible for both the timing and accuracy of order delivery, helping to maintain the high standards of service we uphold. Beyond simply running food, this role requires clear communication skills for describing dishes to guests and managing any special requests or needs that arise during service. The Runner/Expo must be attentive, quick on their feet, and able to multitask effectively in a bustling restaurant environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to carry trays and lift moderate weights
  • Customer service experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar restaurant role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy shifts

Job Duties

  • Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
  • Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
  • Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
  • Assist servers in side work during down times
  • Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
  • Maintain a clean workstation
