We are currently seeking a dedicated and efficient Runner/Expo to join our dynamic front-of-house team. This role is crucial to maintaining the smooth flow between the kitchen and the dining area, ensuring that every dish served meets our high standards and enhances the overall guest experience.

The Runner/Expo position is a fast-moving and integral role within our restaurant. As the lynchpin between the kitchen and guests, the Runner/Expo facilitates communication and timely delivery of food, ensuring orders are completed accurately and promptly. This person will be in continuous motion during service hours, managing the flow of plates and coordinating with both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams. Responsibilities include reading tickets, finishing plates as needed, running food, and sometimes delegating these tasks to other team members to maintain efficiency. Additionally, the Runner/Expo will interact directly with guests by describing dishes, checking on guest satisfaction, and handling any special requests or accommodations.

To excel in this role, candidates must be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a high-energy environment. The position demands a high degree of organization, multitasking ability, and a keen sense of timing to support seamless service. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Duties

  • read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
  • describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
  • retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
  • assist servers in side work during down times
  • be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
  • maintain a clean workstation
