Job Description
Our establishment is a vibrant and fast-paced restaurant dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through impeccable service and high-quality cuisine. Known for its commitment to guest satisfaction and culinary excellence, we pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere where hospitality meets efficiency. Our team is composed of passionate professionals who work collaboratively to ensure every guest leaves with a memorable impression. As a runner/expo, you will hold a crucial role that bridges the gap between the kitchen staff and our valued guests, acting as the linchpin that ensures seamless communication and timely delivery of food. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and possess strong interpersonal skills to represent our brand enthusiastically. Employment type is typically full-time or part-time depending on scheduling needs, with competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth within the team.
The runner/expo role demands an individual who can maintain constant motion throughout service hours, ensuring that all plates leaving the kitchen are completed accurately and delivered promptly to guests. You will be responsible for reading ticket orders, verifying that plates are finished to the highest standard, and either running food yourself or delegating this task to other team members. Your ability to describe dishes eloquently to guests and handle or communicate any guest requests efficiently is paramount. Additionally, your role extends beyond simple food delivery as you assist servers with side work during low-traffic periods and help maintain cleanliness and readiness of the service stations. A successful runner/expo must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess a strong commitment to maintaining operational flow between the back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) teams. This role will offer you an engaging opportunity to develop your communication skills, demonstrate leadership in delegation, and contribute directly to the quality of the dining experience our restaurant provides. Attention to detail, effective multitasking, and a genuine passion for hospitality are key to excelling in this position.
