Job Description
McCall's Catering and Events is a renowned catering company based in San Francisco, known for its culinary expertise and dedication to quality service. McCall's is currently seeking motivated and energetic runners/bussers to join their team at their restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to kick-start their careers in the hospitality industry. As a runner/busser, you will play a crucial role in supporting the dining service by assisting staff, preparing and serving hot and cold food and beverages (including various types of coffee and tea), and helping to maintain clean and inviting dining areas. The role demands a high level of professionalism, a positive attitude, and excellent communication and multitasking skills.
This part-time hourly position offers a competitive pay rate of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour and includes shifts across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with scheduling flexibility to meet business needs. Given that McCall's operates multiple locations, there may be opportunities or requirements to work across different sites, making flexibility an important attribute for applicants.

Job Requirements
- able to work in a fast-paced environment
- able to maintain a positive and professional attitude toward guests
- high volume experience in cafe and restaurant
- strong communication and time management skills
- flexibility to work am and pm shifts including weekends evenings and holidays
- able to work in different locations if needed
- physical ability to lift 20 lbs or more and stand for long hours
- valid ABC-RBS certification
- vaccination is required with accommodations for disability or religious reasons
- understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a high volume cafe or restaurant setting
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to multitask effectively

- time management skills
- retail hospitality or customer service experience preferred
- valid ABC-RBS certification
- CA Foodhandlers certification a plus
- understanding of hygiene and food safety rules

Job Duties
- greet all customers with professionalism providing a positive customer experience with friendly and courteous service
- prepare dining areas before guests are seated
- decorate tables with candles napkins linens and flowers
- place tableware and condiments on tables
- serve water and other condiments
- refill beverages and take orders where needed
- remove dirty utensils and replenish as needed
- provide special silverware sets to families with young children
- clean and reset tables after guests leave
- maintain health and safety regulations at all kitchen and dining areas
