The role on offer is a critical position within the company’s logistical framework, focused on route delivery and transportation operations. The successful candidate will perform product deliveries along assigned routes, ensuring that customers receive their goods promptly and accurately. This role requires meticulous attention to verifying orders, assembling products, and adhering to defined delivery windows. The position also demands a strong awareness of vehicle maintenance, as the operator must conduct regular inspections of tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water levels, coordinating repairs when necessary to maintain optimal vehicle performance and safety.
A significant aspect of this job involves compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including federal motor carrier safety standards and company policies on transportation and safety procedures. The candidate must be adept at managing multiple assignments, reading maps, and utilizing both written and verbal geographic instructions to navigate delivery routes effectively. They must also be equipped with excellent communication skills to report any issues promptly to supervisors, including mechanical problems, delays, and accidents.
In addition to the physical and operational aspects, this role encompasses administrative responsibilities such as completing related paperwork, maintaining vehicle logs, managing receipts and monies from customers, and ensuring thorough record-keeping in line with company protocols. Job Requirements
- Must know and adhere to Department of Transportation regulations
- DOT certification required
- Valid State Class A CDL license required
- At least 1 year of route driving experience
- Ability to understand and enforce regulatory guidelines
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
