With stores located not only on US bases across Germany, Italy, England, Turkey, South Korea, and Japan but also in more challenging locations such as Iraq and Afghanistan, the Exchange is dedicated to ensuring that Soldiers, Airmen, and their families have seamless access to US goods and services wherever they are stationed. The Exchange plays a pivotal role in supporting military life and morale through its varied and accessible retail services.
At the heart of the retail operations is the role of Roving Store Worker at the Express. This position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about preparing delicious food items ranging from pizza and hot dogs to a variety of roller grill items and beverages that delight customers. Working at the Express means engaging in a supportive team environment where employees are encouraged to bring their best selves each day. The role is not limited to food preparation but extends to expert customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, managing inventory, operating cash register systems, and performing a variety of tasks that ensure smooth store functioning.
The Roving Store Worker is empowered to take initiative, solve problems on the spot, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for every customer. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting and enjoy a range of duties from stock replenishment to merchandising and point-of-sale transactions. Employees in this role benefit from flexible scheduling with intermittent hours that range from 0-34 weekly, rotating shifts, and an emphasis on work-life balance.
The Exchange offers comprehensive benefits to support their associates, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, paid time off including vacation and sick leave, 401(k) plans, and shift differentials for evening and overnight hours, amongst others. Additionally, associates enjoy paid military leave, access to the base facilities, and opportunities for growth and cross-training within other store areas.
Working at the Exchange is more than just a job; it is a commitment to serve those who serve. The Roving Store Worker position offers not only competitive compensation and benefits but also the chance to build a meaningful career by contributing to the morale and welfare of military families worldwide. Candidates who possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a welcoming demeanor, and basic computer proficiency will find this role both rewarding and impactful.
