The role of Service Technician at United Site Services is a pivotal one, central to their mission of delivering reliable and effective portable sanitation solutions. This position involves operating a company service truck and traveling to various locations to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and holding tanks. The Service Technician plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of portable restroom facilities, thereby directly supporting the customer's satisfaction and event success. Duties include performing all work in line with USS and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards, managing a wide range of physical activities such as sitting, standing, kneeling, and lifting heavy items regularly throughout the work shift.

Customer service interaction is essential, enabling the technician to build rapport with clients and ensure their standards are met or exceeded. Flexibility is key to adapting routes and schedules to meet client needs effectively. Additionally, Service Technicians provide valuable routing feedback to management to optimize operational efficiency and enhance service quality. Strategic planning skills are also vital, as technicians discuss clients' current and future portable toilet needs to ensure full satisfaction. The position is full-time with an hourly wage ranging from $20.42 to $27.57, depending on location, experience, education, and certifications. Job Requirements

  • Sit while driving and stand while servicing products
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls
  • Repeat the same movements
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance
  • Speak clearly so customers can understand
  • Understand the speech of another person
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
  • Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
  • Lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders
  • Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head
  • Crouch and squat
  • Push 100lbs and pull 100lbs horizontally

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
  • Valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
  • Excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills

Job Duties

  • Perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
  • Perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
  • Perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • In addition, perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
  • Conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
  • Perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
  • Ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes need to be adjusted or changed
  • Provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
  • Ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
