Job Description
United Site Services (USS) is the industry-leading provider of comprehensive site services, dedicated to supporting project and event success across the United States. As a company with deep expertise in the portable sanitation sector, USS offers tailored solutions that enable smooth operations for construction sites, special events, and government projects. With a longstanding commitment to corporate responsibility and process excellence, USS operates through best-in-class programs built on teamwork, safety, and customer satisfaction. The company is powered by a diverse workforce encompassing field technicians, customer care representatives, sales professionals, and functional experts. Each member of the USS team plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless and reliable experience for customers by upholding service standards, safety protocols, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
The Service Technician role at United Site Services is a pivotal position responsible for operating service trucks to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and holding tanks at various locations. As the heart of the business, this position demands a combination of technical skills, customer interaction, and physical stamina. Service Technicians ensure that portable toilets are serviced according to USS’s rigorous 8-point service standard to maintain sanitation and customer satisfaction. Working within strict safety guidelines mandated by USS and the Department of Transportation (DOT), these professionals are expected to perform their duties safely and efficiently. The role involves activities such as driving, operating pumps, physically servicing and cleaning units, managing lifting and carrying tasks, and adapting routes to meet changing customer needs.
The Service Technician position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.49 to $26.32 per hour, with pay reflecting geographic location, skill level, experience, and education. Additionally, the company offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus paid in four equal installments over 12 months ($375 every three months) to external candidates. This role is ideally suited for candidates who enjoy physical work, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of commercial driving experience and hold a valid driver's license, either commercial or non-commercial.
Working for USS means joining an organization that values safety, customer satisfaction, continuous operational improvement, and employee well-being. This role supports the company’s mission by delivering vital sanitation services that contribute to public health and hygiene in work and event environments. Due to the physical nature of the job, Service Technicians must demonstrate physical endurance, including lifting up to 150 pounds during a shift, walking, kneeling, and carrying out repetitive movements. Clear communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers on site are essential.
At United Site Services, full-time employees (working 30 hours or more per week) enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including holiday and paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability, life insurance, various voluntary insurance options, commuter benefits, healthcare flexible spending accounts, retirement plans with employer match, employee assistance programs, and employee discounts. USS is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and is an equal opportunity employer ensuring non-discrimination on any legally protected basis. Working as a Service Technician offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a leading company that values integrity, collaboration, and excellence in service within the portable sanitation industry.
