The role of Service Technician at USS is a crucial part of the company's operations. The Service Technician is responsible for the operation of the company service vehicle and the servicing, pumping, and cleaning of portable restrooms and holding tanks at various job sites. This position is considered the core of the company’s business, directly impacting customer satisfaction and service quality. Service Technicians are expected to meet rigorous safety and procedural standards, including adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as USS-specific safety protocols.
The Service Technician carries out physically demanding tasks requiring lifting, pushing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching frequently throughout the workday. This role demands flexibility to adapt routes and services based on customer needs, ensuring the highest level of customer service. Technicians are also responsible for communicating feedback on routing and operational efficiencies to management, helping improve overall service delivery. Additionally, they engage directly with customers on-site, discussing current and anticipated restroom needs to plan and strategize effectively.

Job Qualifications
- minimum two years of commercial driving experience
- valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
- excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
- strong problem-solving and decision making skills
Job Duties
- perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
- perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
- perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- in addition, perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
- conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
- perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
- ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes needs to be adjusted or changed
- provide routing feedback to operations manager/supervisor/coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
- ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
