The role of a Service Technician at USS is vital, as this position directly supports the company’s core business operations. The Service Technician is responsible for operating a company service truck, providing servicing, pumping, and cleaning of portable restrooms and holding tanks. This hands-on role requires the individual to travel to various customer locations, ensuring that equipment is maintained to USS’s high service standards and customer satisfaction is achieved.

This full-time role includes a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.49 to $26.32, with pay dependent on geographic location, experience, and qualifications. Additionally, there is an appealing $1,500 sign-on bonus paid out in four installments over 12 months, providing an extra incentive for skilled candidates. Service Technicians are expected to follow strict safety guidelines per USS and Department of Transportation regulations, ensuring both their safety and the safety of those around them while performing all duties.

The role demands physical stamina and agility, including actions such as sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting or pushing heavy weights frequently throughout the work shift. Service Technicians interact directly with customers on-site, delivering excellent customer service and strategically planning to meet both current and future customer needs. Flexibility is important, as the technician must adapt routes and schedules to optimize service delivery and efficiency based on operational feedback.

  • minimum two years of commercial driving experience

Job Duties

  • perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
  • perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
  • perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • in addition, perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
  • conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
  • perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
  • ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes needs to be adjusted or changed
  • provide routing feedback to operations manager/supervisor/coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
  • ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
